Shropshire Pages is operated by Xtra Phones UK Ltd, the company behind Compare The Networks. Xtra Phones UK Ltd is the data controller for information collected through this website.
Information we hold
- Business listing information created from publicly available sources.
- Details you submit through our forms (add a business, claim, update/remove, enquiry, contact, advertising and Find a Trader job requests).
- Anonymous usage data, including a salted hash of your IP address used only to count contact actions and completed form submissions. We do not store raw IP addresses.
- Aggregate analytics data from privacy-friendly analytics tools, such as page views, searches and conversion events.
How we use it
- To operate and improve the directory.
- To respond to enquiries, claims and update/removal requests.
- To review Find a Trader job requests, identify relevant local directory listings and contact you about suitable next steps.
- To produce aggregate statistics for listings.
- To understand which pages and actions help users find and contact local businesses.
Optional Compare The Networks contact
The add-business and claim forms include a separate, unticked option to request an email from Compare The Networks about business broadband, mobiles or phone systems. If you select it, we record what you agreed to and when, and use the supplied name, business and email address to make that requested contact. The choice does not affect listing approval, claiming or free owner access. We do not treat an unticked box as consent.
Clearly labelled links to Compare The Networks open its separate website. Simply submitting a Shropshire Pages form does not submit a quote request to a network or telecoms provider.
Lawful basis
We process personal data on the basis of legitimate interests in running a local directory, and consent where you submit a form or contact us.
Unclaimed listings
Some listings are created from publicly available business information and are marked as unclaimed. If a listing relates to you or your business, you can claim, update or request its removal at any time.
Find a Trader requests
When you submit a job request, we store the job description, location, timing, budget and contact details so an administrator can review it. These details are not published on the directory. We may use them to identify relevant local businesses and to contact you about the request. We do not automatically send your personal details to every listed business.
Retention
We normally retain enquiries and Find a Trader requests for up to 12 months, unless they are needed for longer to handle an active request, resolve a dispute, prevent abuse or meet a legal obligation. Administrative audit records may be kept for a reasonable longer period.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or request deletion of your personal data, and to object to processing. To exercise these rights, contact us.
