Best Cafes and Coffee Shops in Shropshire

By The Shropshire Pages team·17 June 2026

The county’s best independent cafes and speciality coffee, from Shrewsbury roasters to charming tea rooms.

Shropshire's independent coffee scene is genuinely excellent. Here are the cafes and roasters locals rate most highly.

Shrewsbury

The county town is spoilt for choice. House Coffee Co. in Coleham, The Condor on Wyle Cop and Oath Coffee are all superb for a flat white, while Iron & Fire roast their own beans on the edge of town.

Oswestry

The Old Coffee Pot Tea Rooms is a much-loved institution, and Shrooma is the spot for excellent brunch.

Telford and Wellington

Sofia's Cafe in Wellington is one of the highest-rated cafes anywhere in the county.

Tea rooms and country cafes

For something more traditional, Jemima's Kitchen in Church Stretton, the Cherry Tree Cafe in Ellesmere and Rural Space near Harmer Hill are all worth seeking out.
